KING, THOMAS A.
Thomas A. King of 410 Solomon Towers died Tuesday [May 20, 1980] in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Fayetteville, after a recent illness.
He was born in Wilmington on Oct. 30, 1905, the son of the late Herbert H. and Attie Rowan King.
Mr. King served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific and was retired in July of 1956 after 30 years’ service.
Surviving are two sisters, Miss Mary S. King of Hampstead and Mrs. James C. (Pauline) Cook, Sr. of Wilmington; a nephew, J. C. Cook, Jr.; two nieces, Mrs. W. W. Busard and Miss Sylvia Ann Cook, all of Wilmington.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at p.m. in the Chapel of Andrews Mortuary by Dr. Roger E. Horne. Interment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery with full military honors.
