SAN JOSE, Dec. 23—(AP)—John H. King Jr., Marine private first class, stationed at Moffett Field, was killed and his companion, Cpl. Lawrence C. Byerly was severely injured today [December 23, 1944] in a collision of their car and a truck on Bayshore Highway. Byerly was taken to Moffett Field Hospital.
