JONAS, DONALD B.

Donald B. Jonas, age 46, passed away May 6, 1969 in St. Mary’s Hospital. Mr. Jonas was born in Elcho, Wis. on April 22, 1923 and had resided in Racine for 27 years. During World War II he served in the Pacific with the U.S. Marine Corps and had been employed as a machinist at the Gorton Machine Co. He was a member of St. Rita’s Church, Holy Name Society and Machinists Local 437 of Gorton’s. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn (nee: Braun); eight sons, Robert, Richard, Thomas, John, Joseph, Jeffery, William and James; three daughters, Kathleen, Susan and Sharon, all at home; one sister, Mrs. Orval (Lorraine) Nelson, Townsend, Wis.; nieces, nephews; father-in-law, and mother-in-law, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; other near relatives. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 9, 10:30 a.m. in the Strouf-Sheffield Home and 11 a.m. in St. Rita’s Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Highway 32. Friends may call at the Strouf-Sheffield Funeral Home, 1001 High St., Thursday after 4 p.m. The Rosary will be recited Thursday evening, 7:30, in the funeral home.
