JOLLY, WILLIAM T.

Thomas Jolly, age 65, a native of Albuquerque died suddenly at his home in Manhattan Beach, California, Monday, Sept. 23rd. [1985]. Tom was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and attended the University of New Mexico. He served in the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a member of Carlson’s Raiders and the Second Marine Raider Battalion. He served in several combat operations and won the Silver Star for gallantry in action.

After the war, he was employed by the Standard Oil Co. in India and in China. He later served with the Central Intelligence Agency.

Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was employed by the Hughes Aircraft Co. in Los Angeles. He is survived by his wife, Myra Jolly of the home; his mother, Carolyn Jolly, Rio Rancho; his brother, Joseph Jolly, Rio Rancho; his aunt, Urma McClurken, Albuquerque; four children and five grandchildren. A funeral mass was celebrated September 27th at the Church of American Martyrs in Manhattan Beach, California.
