JACKSON, REX E.
Rex Eugene Jackson, 75, Springfield, Mo., passed away Jan. 9, 2000, in his daughter’s home in Ozark, Mo.
Rex was born Aug. 1, 1924, in Denver, Colo., to Denzil and Vesta Walker Jackson. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II. He was married to Barbara J. Stephens on May 24, 1947, in Galena, Kan., and she preceded him in death March 20, 1988. Rex was a meat cutter in Pickerings Grocery in Rogersville and Consumers before retiring. He had worked for the Rogersville High School and was a bus driver for many years. He enjoyed playing country music and was an active part in his grandchildren’s lives.
Survivors include two sons, Russell and John Jackson, both of Springfield; three daughters, Caroel Nowark and husband, Don, Ozark, Becky Hawkins and husband, Dale, Niangua, and Polly Miller and husband, Lenny, Springfield; a sister, Joyce Dalrymple and husband, Les, Springfield; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and an aunt, Gana Blair. Rex was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Russell; a sister, Marcelle Milistead; and a daughter, Theresa.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, in Crane Masonic Cemetery, Crane, under direction of Preston-Marsh Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
