INSELL, SAMUEL L., JR.

Samuel L. Insell, Jr., age 84, of Murfreesboro died Friday [February 27, 2009] at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. He was born in Rutherford County and was the son of the late Samuel L. & Mina Gannon Insell, Sr. He is survived by his son, Lynn (Lynn) Insell of Murfreesboro; daughters, Bonnie (Larry) Anderson of Rockvale and Connie Lou Insell of Woodbury; brother, Charles (Dorothy) Insell of Murfreesboro; sisters, Sarah (Ernest) McCaslin and Jane Cox of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Jamie Insell, Blake Insell, Beth Moore, and Kristin Pendergrast; great-grandchild, Christopher Moore. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Nathan Hale and Rev. Dave Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with full military rites. Visitation with the family will be 2-6 pm Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. Insell was married to the late Fannie Ruth Messick Insell. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Insell and his sister, Annie Ruth Pittard. He was a veteran of WW II having served in the United States Marines, a member of the Baptist Church and a retired employee with Middle Tennessee Electric Corporation. Active Pallbearers will be Larry Anderson, Blake Insell, Bud Mitchell, Sidney Adams, Jerry Messick and Jackie Whitaker.
