HOLLOWED, ROBERT M.
Prayers for Robert M. Hollowed, 65, a resident of Itasca, formerly of Oak Park, will be said at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Martin Funeral Home Ltd., 333 S. Roselle Road, Roselle. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Church, N. Rush St., Itasca.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
He died Monday [October 3, 1988] in California.
He was employed by Gallaher and Spek for 40 years as a pipefitter. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he fought in the Pearl Harbor attack and received the Purple Heart after being wounded in combat. He was a member of Pipefitters Union, Local No. 597.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine; sons, Robert Jr., John and Thomas Hollowed, Michael, David, Joseph and Donald Petersen; daughters, Mary Tretter, Patricia Anderson, Maureen Hollowed, Jean Waterworth, Joanne Price, Linda Silverblatt and Suzanne Petersen; brothers, Edward, James, John and Myles; sisters, Mary LaViolette, Ann Seigh and Marge Adamson; and 14 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
