HESSE, KENNETH T.

Kenneth T. Hesse, 93 of Loveland, Colorado passed away peacefully with family by his side on April 13, 2017. Ken was born in Nina, Wisconsin in 1923. He attended Madison West High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He served as a Marine Raider during WWII with the 4th Bn. Raiders under the command of James Roosevelt, where he earned a Purple Heart. Ken worked as a cattle nutritionist for D&D Bean Co. and also worked for Great Western Sugar Co. and Kodak Pure Oil Co. Ken had a passion for painting watercolors, reading, gardening, hiking, traveling and piloting twin engine (Cessna) planes. He loved spending time with his family and was always there to help others and often gave to numerous charities.

Ken is survived by a daughter, Anne Simon (Randy) of Loveland, CO; granddaughter, Lauryn Simon of Loveland; grandson, Eric Blumanthal of Tucson, AZ; brother, Robert Hesse of Scottsdale, AZ and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helene E. Hesse (Stannus); sister, Dorothy, brother-in-law, Ben; and son, John Blumanthal. Ken will always be loved by all that knew him and will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Ken’s life will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Allnutt Funeral Service in Loveland, CO.
