HAIGHT, WILLIAM R.

MOUNT DORA, Fla. – Memorial services are scheduled for April 6, 1997, at Hibiscus Park Chapel in Mount Dora, Fla., for William Roy Haight, 74, of Mount Dora, Fla., formerly of Hattiesburg, who died March 16, 1997, at his residence.

The Rev. Leroy Wright will officiate.

Mr. Haight was a native of McComb and a longtime resident of Hattiesburg prior to retiring in Florida. He was a retired electronics technician, who owned and operated Dixie Color TV Service in Hattiesburg.

Mr. Haight was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, where he was a member of Carlson’s Raiders. He was a member of the V.F.W. in Eustis, Fla., and a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Haight; his mother, Ruby Talbert and a sister, Juanita Canton.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley R. Haight of Mount Dora, Fla.; two daughters, Linda L. Schmidt of Flora and Virginia Cheatham of Hattiesburg; and three grandchildren.
