Ralph C. Green, age 82, of Monoville community, November 18, 2007. U.S. Marine veteran of World War II, combat wounded on island of Guam and recipient of the Purple Heart. Retired farmer. Born in Difficult community on June 29, 1925, one of 5 children of late Robert Allen and Annie Florence Kemp Green. Preceded in death by infant sister, Edna Green and by brother, Cecil Green. Survived by wife of fifty-nine years, Jo Ann Key Green to whom he was married on October 3, 1948; daughter, Marsha Green Huffines and husband Bill of Monoville; grandsons, Ryan and Spencer Huffines of Cookeville; sisters, Maizell Smith of Smith Bend, Ruth Dillehay and husband Leman of Gallatin; brother-in-law, Walter Key Jr. and wife Sara of Knoxville; sisters-in-law, Dartha Key of Carthage and Opal Green of Defeated Creek. Services 1 p.m. Tuesday, Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home with Eld. Billy Joe Shoulders and Bro. Jimmy Gregory officiating. Pallbearers, grandsons and Randall Green, Tim Smith, Steve and Ed Key. Interment, Ridgewood Cemetery.
