GORZALSKI, LEONARD J.

Pfc. Leonard J. Gorzalski, 21, of the Marines, has been wounded in action in the South Pacific area, the Navy Department announced Thursday. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Gorzalski, 1438 W. Lincoln Ave. Pfc. Gorzalski joined the Marines in September, 1942. He attended St. Stanislaus High School and was employed by the Maynard Steel Casting Co. before he entered the service. A brother, Corp. Eugene, 19, is with the Air Corps in Tennessee.

Historian’s note: Pfc. Gorzalski was subsequently reported as killed in action July 21, 1944. He is still listed by the Department of Defense as missing in action/non-recovered.
