GASKINS, CHARLES L.

Charlie L. Gaskins, 52, of 1460 Radcliffe St., died Saturday [September 29, 1973] in a Reno hospital.

A native of Forestburg, Tex., he attended schools in Oklahoma and then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Following discharge from service, he worked for the Dayton Consolidated Mines, in Silver City, for about three years before going to work for the Carson Valley Freight Lines. He later worked as a well driller until joining the Martin Iron Works in 1952, where he worked until the time of his death.

He had been active in Civil Defense work.

Surviving are his widow, Alice, of Reno; daughters, Diana Johnson, of Lemmon Valley, Janet Burris, of Sun Valley, and Darlene Jensen, of Sparks; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Gaskins, of Romoland, Calif.; sisters, Beatrice Brewer, of Westminster, Calif., and Joy Benz, of Whittier, Calif.; brother, Otis, of Riverside, Calif.; eight grandchildren.

Graveside services, with full military honors, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Mountain View Cemetery.
