FREEMAN, RAYMOND

Raymond Freeman of Route 3, Bryan, a lifelong resident of Brazos County, died at 6 AM Wednesday [February 1, 1961] at his home. Mr. Freeman, who was 43 years old, had been paralyzed since June 7, 1960, when he was knocked into a ditch while on the job with R. B. Butler Construction Co.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Thursday from Callaway-Jones Funeral Home chapel. Rev. David Roland, pastor of the Steep Hollow Baptist Church, will officiate. Musicwill be presented by the church choir assisted by Mrs. James Monk, organist.

Mr. Freeman, member of the Bryan Carpenters Union 1855, was a Marine corporal during World War II and a member of Steep Hollow Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Faye Freeman; two sons, Roland and Dennis Ray Freeman; his mother, Mrs. Julia O’Neal of Magnolia; and three brothers, Walter Freeman of Conroe, James and Ernest Freeman of Bryan.

Burial will be in Bryan City Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: A. G. Nixon, Gordon T. Hill, David Butler, Robert T. Biggs, R. B. Butler and C. B. Harber.
