FRANCOISE, WILLIAM

William Francoise, 75, a retired procurement officer who worked in Washington for the Navy Bureau of Ships and at Marine Corps headquarters, died Dec. 31 [1995] at Alexandria Hospital. He had an aortic aneurysm.

Mr. Francoise, an Alexandria resident and a native of Kalamazoo, Mich., attended Western Michigan College. He served in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart.

He moved to the Washington area in 1945. After he retired from Marine Corps headquarters in 1971, he lived in Auckland, New Zealand. He returned to the Washington area in 1989.

His wife, Marnie Hestketh Frater Francoise, died in 1994. Survivors include two children, David Hal Francoise and Meredith Ann Francoise, both of Alexandria; two sisters, Alta Jane Forward of Asheville, N.C., and Sandra Lee Bolton of Iowa; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
