FLOYD, HOWARD B.

Howard B. Floyd Sr., 53, of Magee died at his residence early Wednesday morning [April 14, 1976] following a lengthy illness. He was a lifetime resident of Simpson County, a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Marines in the Pacific, and was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church.

Services were held Thursday, April 15, at 4 p.m. at the Corinth Baptist Church with interment following in the Corinth Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Chapel Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Charlene B. Floyd, Magee; two sons, H. B. Floyd Jr. of Craig AFB, Selma, Ala.; and Marvin Floyd of Magee; and two daughters, Miss Caroline Floyd, Jackson; and Twila Floyd, Magee.

Other survivors include a granddaughter; his father, L. R. Floyd Sr., Magee; three brothers, W. W. Floyd, J. W. Floyd, both of Magee; and L. R. Floyd Jr. of Jackson; and three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Floyd, Magee; Mrs. Gene Curlin, Houston, Tex.; and Mrs. Zula Farley, San Diego, Calif.

Pallbearers were Wilson Floyd, Roy Thomas Floyd, A. W. Floyd Jr., Lewis R. Floyd, Pat Floyd, and Cedric Floyd.
