FLAUM, MARTIN
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. tomorrow at the Birnbaum Funeral Home for Marine Pfc. Martin Baum, who was killed July 9, 1943, on Enogai Point, New Georgia, in the Solomon Islands.
Rabbi Samuel Yalow will officiate. Burial will be in Jamesville Gate Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by members of Onondaga Post 131, Jewish War Veterans.
Pfc. Flaum was a native of Syracuse and attended Central High School. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 41 and Post 41, J.W.W. He enlisted on Dec. 8, 1941, one day after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. Pfc. Flaum served on Samoa and New Caledonia and was a member of Company C, [1st] Marine Raider Battalion.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Flaum; two brothers, Norman and Milton Flaum, and his grandmother, Mrs. Dora Rosen.
