EVANS, THOMAS W.

Thomas W. Evans, 48, of 514 Locust Lane, East Rochester, died in Highland Hospital yesterday, August 31, 1968.

He was manager of the Filtros plant, the electro-refractories and abrasives division of the Ferro Corp. of Ohio, 603 W. Commercial St., East Rochester.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mr. Evans had lived in East Rochester since 1947.

He was active in the East Rochester Volunteer Fire Department for more than 10 years. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in New Georgia and Guadalcanal. He was discharged in 1945 with the rank of corporal.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Hyland); two sons, Thomas and Michael; one sister, Mrs. William (Betty) Bayliss of Lancaster, Ohio; several aunts and uncles.

Friends may call from 7-9 Sunday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Harloff Funeral Home, 803 So. Washington St., East Rochester, where services will be held Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment in White Haven.
