ESTRIDGE, CALVIN L.

BROOKVILLE – Calvin L. Estridge, 60, R.R. 3, died Monday [March 30, 1981] in the Veterans Hospital in Cincinnati following a long illness.

A former operator of the Pioneer Bar, he was a native of Lynn, Ky. He was raised in Franklin, Ohio, but lived most of his life here in the Franklin County area. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps; a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Bernard Hurst Post No. 77 of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Frances “Betty”; two brothers, Lloyd of Franklin, Ohio, and Luther of Hillsboro, Ohio; three sisters, Jewell Dutcher of Alexandria, Va., Pauline Anderson of Middletown, Ohio, and Josephine Heller of Franklin, Ohio.

Services for Mr. Estridge will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Cook Funeral Home in Brookville with Carl Patton officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Bernard Hurst Post will have graveside services at the cemetery.
