EPPLER, GEORGE W. L.

George was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1923. He proudly served his country during World War II in the USMC Raider Battalion between 1942 – 1946 in the South Pacific. He moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1957 where he went to work for Honeywell until 1986. George and his wife Rita met while square dancing, they fell in love and got married in 2001. George and Rita spent a great majority of their time traveling throughout Arizona in their RV with their little dog Goldie. George was a very caring man who was always there for his friends and family. George W.L. Eppler passed away on Tuesday, May 26th [2009] at 10:30 pm from complications related to his recent battle with pneumonia. George is survived by three children: Brian Hollabaugh, Robin Wahlen and Dawn Stoner, his loving wife Rita Meyer Eppler and her five children, as well as three grandchildren: Lindsey Robinson, Jessica Spriggs and Natalie Carter. A memorial service will be held at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home 4800 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85018 at 9:00 am on Saturday, May 30, 2009. Arrangements entrusted to Advantage Maryvale Mortuary.
