ELLIS, EUGENE

Eugene Ellis passed away in Sacramento on December 2, 2002. He was the beloved husband of 30 years to Verna Ellis; the loving father of Tim Ellis, Michael Ellis, Lauralee Gardiner, Patty Jones, Eileen Ellis, Colleen Miller, Sharon Bollum, Gael Rushing, Karen Ellis and Julie Dillard; and the devoted grandfather of 33 and great-grandfather to a legion. He also leaves behind his feline friends Missy and Candi and was predeceased by Cathleen Shriver and his granddaughter, Cassandra Bollum.

Eugene was a past member of the Moose Lodge, VFW and Elks Club. He lived and breathed the U.S. military and proudly served his country as a paratrooper, Green Beret, Marine Raider and gunnery sergeant. He was also a hero to his family, a really great father, and will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him.

Graveside services for Eugene were previously held. Arrangements were made by River Cities Funeral Chapel of West Sacramento. Interment was at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.
