Maurie, a proud WWII Marine, courageously fought his last battle on April 24, 2013. Preceded in death by grandson, Weston; siblings, Leon and Delores. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 30 years, Carole; children, Mark (Kathy), Stephen, Dan (Laura), Raymond, Carrie (Mark); their mother, Dorothy Hopkins; step-daughter, Terra (Red) Lexow; 11 grandchildren; 2 step- granddaughters; great- grandchildren; siblings, Carol Markfelder and Arlie Kiley; many relatives and good friends. Celebration of Life 11:30 am Monday, April 29 at St. Francis United Methodist Church, 3914 229th Ave. NW, St. Francis with visitation 1 hour before service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred. Private interment at Oak Grove Cemetery.
