DIX, JOHN N.
John Norman Dix, 77, of Prospect died Monday, Oct. 3, 1994, at Marion General Hospital after a two-week illness.
He was retired as a forklift operator at Eaton Manufacturing in Marion. A World War II veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church, Prospect Lodge #444 F&AM of which he was a Past Worshipful Master, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Prospect Lions Club, Mill Creek Golf Club and Prospect American Legion.
He was born Nov. 10, 1916, in Prospect to the late Dio D. and Addie Cecile Stockwell Dix. He was predeceased by a brother.
He married Alice Lightfoot Dec. 7, 1940, in Independence, Ky., and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Evelyn K. Porter of Hilliard and Carroll L. Bosse of Columbus; and a son, J. Stephen Dix of Chillicothe; 6 grandchildren; and a sister, Carroll Long of Prospect.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Gehm-Ballinger Funeral Home in Prospect. The Rev. Jeffrey Jewell will officiate and interment will be at the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. The Prospect American Legion will be in charge of graveside services.
