Charles M. Dean, 69, of 16 Mygatt St., and 1674 Sarasota Lakes RV Park, Sarasota, Fla., died on Saturday afternoon, April 13, 1991, at Lourdes Hospital, after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Emma Dean, Binghampton; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Sue Dean, Binghampton; two grandsons, David Dean and Eric May, Binghampton; his mother, Pearl Wilson, Johnson City; one brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Patricia Perkett, Rochester, Minn.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rena and Michael Donovan, N.J., Grace and Michael Novack, Binghampton; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hinaman, Johnson City; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Isabelle Ferenczi, Binghampton, Louis and Gertrude Ferenczi, Raleigh, N.C., Daniel and Ethel Ferenczi, New Milford, Pa., Edward and Madeline Ferenczi, Charlotte, N.C.; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; also a great friend and scouter, Robert Dealman. He served in the First Marine Raider Battalion in W.W. II. He was a member of the J. W. Thurston Detachment and Marine Raider Association. He was also an active volunteer scouter for 37 years. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. from the Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 83 Main St., Binghampton. His pastor, the Rev. Gary Kuhns, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, E. Main St., Endwell, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Donations in his memory may be made to the Hospice Program at Lourdes Hospital or Susquenango Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Box 66, Southview Station, Binghampton, NY 13905—Camp Master Fund.
