DAVIS, EARLE M.
DENVILLE TWP. – Earle M. Davis, 63, died Monday [February 22, 1988] at home after a short illness.
He was born in Culpeper, VA., and moved to Denville in 1940.
Mr. Davis was a Marine Raider during World War II.
He was a carrier for the Denville post office before retiring in 1966.
He was a member and past chief of the Denville Fire Department; a member of the Denville Fire Department Exempt Association; a past president of the Denville Fire Association; a past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2519, Denville; and a member of the American Legion Post 390, Denville; St. John’s Masonic Lodge, Mountain Lakes, and the U.S. Marine Raider Association.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; three daughters, Shirley DeHart, Monmouth Junction, and Joyce Dawes and Phyllis Vialard, both of Denville; two brothers, Richard J., Culpeper, and Eugene B., Midlothian, Va.; and six grandchildren.
