COOPER, CLEO E.
Cleo E. Cooper, age 80, passed away Thursday [May 16, 1996] in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Electra with Rev. David Fortenbury, pastor, and Rev. Tommy Culwell, officiating. Burial was in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Totten-Day Funeral Home.
Mr. Cooper was born July 4, 1915 in Seymour, Texas and had been a resident of Electra since 1957. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Electra where he served as deacon, and a member of the VFW in Electra. Mr. Cooper retired after 38 years with the Texas Department of Transportation where he was maintenance supervisor. He and Genela Burkhalter were married September 14, 1940 in Seymour, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Genela Cooper of Electra; two daughters, Gayle Clubb of Seymour, Texas and Nancy Viavattene of Burkburnett, Texas; two sisters, Arva Wilbanks of Seymour, Texas, and Mary Sue Jones of Lago Vista, Texas and three grandsons.
The family requests memorials to the First Baptist Church of Electra.
