Pfc. Philip M. Catalano, U.S.M.C., January 14, 1944, Guadalcanal in the Pacific Islands, dear son of Mariano and Fannie Catalano, dear brother of Mrs. Harold Hornemann, Mrs. Leonard Kohnen, Mrs. Art Licato and John Catalano, dear brother-in-law, nephew, uncle and cousin.

Funeral from P. Miceli & Sons Funeral Parlors. 1150 N. Kings Highway, Saturday, March 6, 8 a.m., to Epiphany Church, 9 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Remains will lie in state Friday, March 5.

Guard of Honor service sponsored by Mo. Pac. Post No. 141, American Legion, Marine Mothers, Gold Star Mothers, Italian World War I Veterans and Misericordia Society.

Historian’s note: Pfc. Catalano was injured when a coconut tree fell onto his tent on Guadalcanal. He died aboard a hospital ship as the result of a crushed chest.
