CASTRACANE, PAUL J.
COHOES – Paul J. Castracane Sr., 52, of 38 Conliss Ave., Cohoes, Marine Corps veteran of World War II, retired employee of Cohoes Housing Authority and former policeman here, died today [June 23, 1975] at Cohoes Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.
A native of Italy, he was the son of Mrs. Eva Salway Castracane and the late Morris Castracane Sr. of Cohoes.
He had resided in Cohoes for the last 48 years. He was decorated while serving in the Marines overseas.
He had served the Cohoes Police Department for 14 years, prior to joining the housing authority.
Survivors include his wife, the former Elaine Bruneau; three daughters, Margaret and Penny, both of Cohoes and Mrs. Harold Kussler of Maplewood; two sons, Timothy P. and Paul J. Jr., both of Cohoes; two brothers, Morris Castracane Jr. and Edward, both of Cohoes and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Boulevard, Cohoes, and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Agnes Church of which he was a communicant. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.
