BUSSEY, RAY W.
Funeral services were held in Detroit Friday for Ray W. Bussey, 30, husband of the former Miss Kay Griffin of East Liverpool, who died Sunday [February 4, 1951] in the Los Angeles Veterans Hospital.
Son-in-law of Mrs. F. E. Griffin of Lisbon St., he died from the effects of injuries suffered while with the Marines in World War II, when blown from a foxhole on Tarawa. He was credited with saving two fellow Marines from drowning in the invasion of Tarawa and was a veteran of six Pacific campaigns.
He leaves his widow, a daughter, Cynthia Kay, five brothers and three sisters.
