BUCKMAN, THOMAS M.

Thomas Buckman, 77, 1002 Neville Ave., died Tuesday, December 20, 1994 at a local nursing home. He was born September 30, 1917 in Green Bay to the late Leslie and Katherine Buckman. During World War II he served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps as a member of the Carlson’s Raiders. Mr. Buckman was a recipient of the Purple Heart. On July 12, 1947 he married LaVern Barrett. He worked for James River Paper Co. for over 25 years. Mr. Buckman was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Russell Leicht Chapter #3.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary and Gordon Turner, Houston, Tx.; Betty Buckman, Green Bay; one son and daughter-in-law, John T. and Rosemary Buckman, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Ann Hettiger, Amy Ellis, Kevin Heier, John M. Buckman, Andrew Buckman and Katherine Buckman; two brothers, Charles Buckman and James Buckman, both of Green Bay.

He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVern and one brother, Ward Buckman.

Friends may also call at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray St., from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday. Funeral 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. John Van Deuren officiating. Entombment at Allouez Mausoleum.
