BUCCI, GEORGE P.
George P. Bucci, Sr. of the Town of Newburgh passed away peacefully at home [December 12, 2015] surrounded by his family.
A Marine Raider, Second Battalion, George served his country proudly during World War II, participating in the invasions of Okinawa, Guadalcanal, Bougainville and Guam among others. George served his community in the Cronomer Valley Fire Dept. along with numerous local volunteer organizations.
George will be remembered fondly for his love of life, family, country, as well as for his adventurous spirit and generosity. If you were looking for a good story, George was always ready to provide one of interest. He touched us all with his tremendous humor, spending endless hours with his children, grandchildren and “Throwing the Bull.”
George is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Delores Wise Bucci; daughter, Deborah Zodikoff and husband, Harold; son, George P. Bucci Jr. and partner, Nancy Wassi LaColla; daughter, Nadine More and husband, Hector, daughter, Gemma Bucci Edwards and husband, Bill. He was predeceased by his daughter, Regina Dickman Eddinger. He is survived by 13 beautiful grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. George is also survived by three brothers, Alfred, Paul, and Dave Bucci and is predeceased by his brother, Augustus Bucci and sisters, Ida, Jeanette, Elizabeth and Dorothy.
