BROWN, HAROLD F., JR.

Memorial committal services for Private First Class Harold F. Brown Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Rose Hill Cemetery under direction of Street and Draper Funeral Home. Reverend John A. Wright will be the officiating minister. Brown was killed on Guam July 26, 1944, while serving with the First Raider Battalion, U.S. Marine Corps. He was the son of Harold F. Brown, former reporter for the Oklahoma City Times, and Mrs. Brown, now of Fort Worth, Texas.

He attended Edgemere Grade School in Oklahoma City and was a senior in Arlington Heights High School, Fort Worth, at the time he entered the service. He took his boot training in the Emirau and Eniwetok campaigns before landing on Guam.

Survivors include his parents; a sister, Janet Brown, a former WAC captain who served in Australia, New Guinea, and the Philippines; his grandfather, Colonel Fred Brown, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and two aunts, Mrs. L. A. Collins, Enid, and Mrs. Hugh Sparling, Hempstead, New York.
