BANCROFT, ROBERT W.

Robert W. Bancroft, 73, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of South Windsor, beloved husband of Norma M. Bancroft, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 1997 in Port Charlotte, FL. Born May 3, 1924 in East Windsor. He served his country overseas as a United States Marine during World War II. He was a retired tool maker, who worked at various tool and die shops throughout the greater Hartford area. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, William of Brighton, MI, Bruce of Hatboro, PA, Michael of Enfield; five daughters, Helen Hillenbrand and Suzanna Jacobs, both of Pompano Beach FL, Brenda Sturm of Southampton, PA, Victoria Close of Ellington, Beth Larsen of Hebron; a brother, Donald of South Windsor; a sister, Phyllis Bednarz of Windsor Locks, 27 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational (otherwise known as the Scantic Church), Church of East Windsor (124 Scantic Rd., East Windsor), on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m. There are no calling hours.
