ASSELIN, LEONEL A.
Leonel A. Asselin, 80, of Willow Way, a former Draper Corp. employee, died Friday [May 21, 2004] at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Providence.
He was the husband of Lena M. (Beaugrand) Asselin. Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Xavier and Marianne (Fabas) Asselin, he had lived in Lincoln for 50 years. He worked as a set-up man for the Draper Corp.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a member of the Edson Raiders. He received a Purple Heart.
He was a communicant of St. Jude Church in Lincoln.
Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Christine M. Szymanski of Lincoln; a son, John L. Asselin of Lincoln; and four grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Arthur Asselin.
The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from Bellows-Falso Funeral Chapel, 160 River Rd., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Jude Church, Front Street. Burial with Military Honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
