ALVERSON, JAMES P.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP—James P. Alverson, 43, of 10 Bellevue Ave., Leonardo, died yesterday [January 30, 1957] in Monmouth Memorial Hospital, Long Branch. He was born in Newark. Mr. Alverson lived here 12 years. He was an engineer at Fort Monmouth. Mr. Alverson was a member of St. Agnes R. C. Church, Atlantic Highlands, and the Marine Corps League, Monmouth County detachment. He was a veteran of World War II and also served in the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Herzig Averson; a son, James K.; a daughter, Virginia K., both at home; his mother, Mrs. Esther Morton Alverson, Leonardo; four brothers, William, Jersey City; Jay, U.S. Navy, Norfolk, Va.; George, U.S. Navy, Philadelphia, Pa.; Edward, Atlantic Highlands; four sisters, Mrs. Eileen Jennings, Atlantic Highlands; Mrs. Bernard Hoffman, Leonardo; and the Misses Jessie and Ann Alverson, both of Leonardo.
