ALLEN, CECIL B.

Cecil B. Allen, 73, died Sunday, July 4, 1999 at Scripps Hospital in Encinitas.

Born September 30, 1925, in Arizona, he lived in Oceanside for 35 years. He was a self-employed house painter and served with the United States Marine Raiders in World War II. He received two Purple Hearts, one for wounds suffered in Bougainville on 1 November 1943 and the other for wounds on Guam on [22] July 1944.

Mr. Allen was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Allen. He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Allen of Oceanside; son Gregory Allen of Monterey; daughter Sherry Chester of La Mesa; daughter-in-law Sylvia Allen of Oceanside; five brothers, a sister and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on July 10 with burial in the Garden of Honor at El Camino Memorial Park with a military detail.
