ADOLPHE, EDWARD
HOUSTON, Tex., Sept. 29—Edward Adolphe, public relations consultant and former New York newspaperman, died this morning [July 29, 1958] of a heart attack at his home here. He was 48 years old.
A 1931 graduate of the Columbia University School of Journalism, he became a reporter for The Providence Journal and from 1933 to 1939 a copy editor for The New York Herald Tribune, to which he also contributed weekly articles of films. In World War II he was a combat correspondent in the South Pacific with the Marine Corps.
From 1946 to 1954 he was editor of The Lamp, a publication of the Standard Oil Company (New Jersey). At one time he was an associate editor of Newsweek. In Houston he ran his own public relations counseling service and contributed to various magazines.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ann Adolphe.
