ABBOTT, LLOYD B.

HIGH POINT – Funeral for Pvt. Lloyd B. Abbott, 17, who was killed in action on New Georgia Island, July 7, 1943, will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Abbott’s Creek Primitive Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Private Abbott, a son of Colonel E. and the late Nora Mabe Abbott, was educated at Oak View School, and entered the Marines in December, 1942. He was a member of the famed Marine [Raiders].

Surviving are: The father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Colonel E. Abbott; two brothers, Noel J. Abbott and Gene Abbott, both of High Point; and two sisters, Mrs. Lois Rice of Camp White, Ore., and Miss Margaret Ann Abbott of High Point.
