BURTMAN, VERNON O.
At the end of a rich and full life and 39 years with his life’s partner, the late Ruby Liston Burtman, [Vernon O. Burtman] died at the age of 79 on September 26, 1994, at home in the loving care of his granddaughter, Patricia Frances Seyler. His generosity and love shaped the lives of his daughters, Fran Seyler Silven and Jane Burtman Lualhati; his grandchildren, Patricia and Jimmie Seylerand, and Nancie and Robby Lualhati; his great-grandchildren, Dominic and Angela Lucia. He will also be missed by his sister, Fern Anderson of North Dakota, and her children, Douglas and Robert; his brother, Robert Burtman of Chico, California, and his children, Nick and Tony. He will also be fondly remembered by his son-in-law, Jerry Silven, his extended family through the marriage of his wife, and his many friends at the Rohnert Park Senior Citizens Center. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps in both World War II and the Korean War, receiving two Purple Hearts and a Silver Star, finally retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He is a graduate of Golden State University, with a B.A. in business administration. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His contribution to his family’s life is a thing that cannot be measured.
The Vigil services were held on Wednesday evening. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 29th at noon (today), both at Duggan’s Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City. Donations may be made to Rohnert Park Senior Citizens Center.
