KNOTTS, JOSEPH R.

ANDERSON, Ind. – Joseph R. “Bob” Knotts, 74, of Anderson, died Sunday [January 23, 2000] at St. John’s Health System.

Born June 15, 1925, in Pendleton, he was the son of Guy and Anna Knotts.

He retired from the United States Air Force in 1973 after serving in all four branches of service in 31 years. He retired from General Motors after 10 years of employment. He served in the Korean Conflict, and with Carlson’s Raiders in the Marines during World War II in the Pacific. He was a member of Aeronautical Modelers Association.

Survivors include three sons, Jeff Knotts and Kenny Knotts, both of Anderson, and Gary Knotts of Yorktown; a daughter, Judy Runyon of Chesterfield; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Guy Knotts Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marvin Baker officiating. Burial will be in Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, with military graveside rites.
