MANEY, ELDON H.
Eldon Harvey Maney, 82, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2002, in Odessa. He was born March 3, 1920 to Harvey and Elsie Maney in Carterville, Missouri.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jack Watkins officiating. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Eldon served in the U.S. Marines during World War II as a gunnery sergeant. He came to Odessa in 1951 from Wichita Falls. He was owner/operator of White House Meat Market since 1956. He was ex-president of Ector County Sheriff’s Posse. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
Both parents; a sister, Glenda; brothers, Olan, Tex, Delvert and Norman; and a grandson, David preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son, John Maney of Kingsland; son, Olan Maney & wife, Jane of Odessa; son, Randy Maney & wife, Trudy of Bastrop; daughter, Jan Benton and husband, Wayne of Amarillo; brothers, Leonard Maney and Odis Maney of Wichita Falls; sisters, Loita Farley and Ruth Davis of Wichita Falls, Verna Rogers of Orange, Ca. and Dana Brookman of Athens; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials to Hospice House at 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, Texas 79761 and Temple Baptist Church.
The family will be at 8722 Holiday.
Services are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
