MOODY, JAKE
EUNICE – Funeral services for Mr. Jake Moody will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum. Rev. Michael DeRosier will officiate.
Mr. Moody, age 83, a resident of Eunice, died November 9, 2005. He was retired with Conoco Oil Company and was a past charter member of St. Edmund School Board. Mr. Moody also enjoyed going to his camp. He was enlisted in the U.S. Marine Raiders from Sept. 14, 1942 until Aug. 23, 1946 where he served in the Pacific and in World War II.
Mr. Moody is preceded in death by three brothers, Lon Moody, Jr., H. S. Moody, and Claud Moody; and four sisters, Clara Hundley, Mildred Bingham, Lillian Cordell, and Leila Scruton.
The visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning on Friday, November 11, 2005, from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., and again on Saturday, November 12, 2005, from 8 a.m. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife, Dee D. Moody of Eunice; seven children, Kenneth Moody and wife, Laura of Sulphur, Alan Moody and wife, Dorthea of Mandeville, Claire Link and husband, Mark of Richard, Guy Moody and wife, Annette of Church Point, Mary Anne O’Brien and husband, Gerald of Eunice, Ginny Moody of Eunice, and Michael Moody of McKinney, Tx.; thirteen grandchildren, Alice Moody LeBlanc, Aimee Moody LeBlanc, Steven, David, Phil and Mark Moody, Catherine Link McGee, Matthew, Kevin and Eric Link, Allie and Jake O’Brien, and Chris Moody; and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Edmund School in Eunice.
