KULLUSON, FRANCIS J.

In Washington, D.C., Francis J. Kulluson, 56, husband of the late Cecilia (Cobey) Kulluson, of Camp Springs, Md., formerly of Hartford, died June 3, 1978, at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Washington, D.C. Mr. Kulluson was born in Easthampton, L.I., N.Y., on Aug. 18, 1921. He was educated in the Hartford schools and was graduated from Hartford Public High. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on Nov. 9, 1939, and served for 22 years. He saw action in the 1st Marine [Raider Battalion] on Guadalcanal in 1942, and is a veteran of the Asiatic-Pacific and American Theater of war during World War II. In 1944, he returned to the United States and was stationed in the recruiting station in Hartford until 1947, when he was transferred to New York City and served as a public relations officer. In 1951, he served overseas in Korea. He retired as master sergeant on July 31, 1961. He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Kulluson of Maui, Hawaii, and Mack Kulluson of Camp Springs, Md.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kulluson of Hartford, a brother, Edward Kulluson of Hartford. The funeral, with military honors, was held at the Fort Meyers Chapel in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., on June 7, 1978. The Rev. John McNamara, U.S. Navy lieutenant commander, celebrated mass and officiated at the burial.
