BRAUN, KENNETH J.

Funeral services were held at a later date for Kenneth J. Braun, 76, of Hamburg, who died Friday, June 21, 2002.

He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Gaudy Braun; sons, Thomas (Karen), Kenneth R. (Julie), Michael and Donald (Maryanne) Braun; daughters, Karen Braun, Mary (Paul) McGoldrick and Janet Little; brothers, Raymond (Rose) and Donald (Agnes) Braun; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Kathleen Braun; son, John Braun; and step-brothers, Robert (Esther) and John Rooney.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Buffalo, Inc.

Mr. Braun served three three-year terms as Erie County Sheriff before retiring in 1985. He was a former corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He belonged to the Holy Name Society at St. Francis of Assisi Church, the Western New York Association of Retired Law Enforcement and was a fourth-degree Knight of Columbus.

He was the recipient of various awards and honors, including being honored as a distinguished alumnus of Buffalo State College.
