WATKINS, FLOYD E.

Floyd E. Watkins, 73, of 1410 Henry St. died Saturday, Oct. 26, 1996, at Pekin Hospital.

Born Feb. 25, 1923, in Pekin to William Earl and Bernice Bell Watkins, he married Melva M. Hoffman on June 29, 1949. She died Oct. 31, 1977. He later married Eleanor Haney Burbridge on Jan. 9, 1986, in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Danny E. of Lexington; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Julia) Taylor of Pekin and Mrs. Howard (Shelley) Davis of Jensen Beach, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. James (Judy) Hurst of Auburn and Mrs. Terry (Nancy) Swearingen of Marquette Heights; one stepson, Hank Burbridge of Spring Arbor, Mich.; four brothers, Edward of Goofy Ridge, Robert of Lady Lake, Fla., Richard of Glasford and Charles of Pekin. Two brothers preceded him in death.

A member of Teamsters Local 627 in Peoria, he was a truck driver for 31 years, working for Growmark Co. in Kingston Mines, formerly known as Farm Supply.

He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
