MARSCHALL, JOHN J., JR.
John J. Marschall, 64, 1127 E. Wausau Ave., Wausau, died Friday, March 10, 1989, at the Wausau Hospital Center, Wausau.
He was born Sept. 2, 1924, in Kimberly, to the late John and Tina Marschall. He married Sophie Lehner on Oct. 6, 1973, in Wautoma. She survives.
He is a retired engraver who formerly owned the Appleton Trophy and also Wausau Trophy and Engraving. He retired in 1986. He served in the Marines during World War II and was wounded in Okinawa. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post 388 and the Montgomery Plant of the American Legion Post 10. He belonged to the Masonic Forest Lodge No. 130, F&AM; the Wisconsin Valley Shrine Club; the Beja Temple, Green Bay; the Valley of Green Bay Scottish Rite. He was also a Big Brother and enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Survivors, besides his wife, include three daughters, Janie Marschall, Alexandria, Va., Tina Marschall, Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. William (Tammy) Hite, Appleton; a granddaughter; and three sisters, Harriet Meyer, Appleton, Frances Duerr, San Diego, Calif., and Lois Schroeder, Colorado Springs, Colo. He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Parish, and a brother, Joe.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Helke Funeral Home with the Rev. Wilmer Bloy, of the First United Methodist Church, Wausau, officiating. Burial will be in the Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau, where there will be military rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post 388. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, where there will be a Masonic Memorial Service held at 7 p.m.
