HASTINGS, Jan. 26—(AP)—Pfc. William M. Ott, 21, Marine veteran of the battle of Midway, was killed this morning [January 26, 1944] when a jeep he was driving overturned, Capt. D. F. Patterson, commanding officer of the Hastings Navy Depot, said.

Ott has been on limited shore duty at the depot for the last year after recovering from a wound sustained at Midway. The accident occurred while he was driving a civilian guard to his post at the depot, Capt. Patterson said.

Survivors include the widow and two small children, who reside in Hastings, and his mother, Mrs. Martha Ott, Long Lane, Mo.
