RAWLINGS, ROBERT B., JR.
A rosary will be held at 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Panciera Memorial Home in Hollywood for Robert B. Rawlings II, a Ft. Lauderdale retired master sergeant in the Marines.
Rawlings was a veteran of 27 years of service. He fought both in World War II and in the Korean War. In World War II, he was a member of the celebrated Edson’s Raiders.
He was 56. He died on Wednesday [January 15, 1969] at the Homestead Air Force Base hospital, where he was a patient.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Georgette Rawlings; a son, Robert B. Rawlings III; his mother, Mrs. Irvin S. Owen; and two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Herndon and Mrs. Genevieve Hord, all of Ft. Lauderdale.
Sgt. Rawlings, whose home was at 4968 SW 29th Ter., will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery, near Washington, D.C.
