WASHINGTON, Sept. 16 (AP) – The Navy Department today announced 310 casualties of the United States naval forces, including 127 dead, 174 wounded and 9 missing.

Among those named were the following from Michigan:

Corp. Charles R. Mitchie, Marine Corps Reserve. Dead [July 29, 1944]. Mother, Olivia Mitchie, Detroit.
