HARRISON, ZACKERY B.
Because T/Sgt. Zackery Brown Harrison, 26, killed on Iwo Jima Feb. 24, 1945, offered the supreme sacrifice to maintain the ideals of his country, those who attended his services at 260 E. South Temple Wednesday at 2 p.m. were advised to be humble in recalling Sgt. Harrison’s memory.
The speaker, Rev. Robert D. Steele, president of Westminster College, who conducted the services, added that “we shall carry on as he and others would have us—with courage, with faith and with a smile.”
Military graveside services in the Salt Lake City Cemetery were conducted by the American Legion, Salt Lake Post No. 2, and Canadian Legion Post 97.
