Washington, Nov. 27 (UP) – The Navy Department announced today casualty list No. 17, covering the period from Nov. 1 to Nov. 15, inclusive. Eight men from Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk were listed as dead. Eight were listed as wounded and two as missing from the same area. Thirty-eight men from the New York area, other than Long Island, were listed as dead, 18 wounded and five missing.
Today’s additions brought total naval casualties since Dec. 7 to 4,943 dead, 2,157 wounded and 10,151 missing. Army casualties now total at least 1,214 dead, 1,531 wounded 161 prisoners and 29,668 missing.
